Day 1: Time for a Spiritual Reset
Based on the Message: "It's Time for a Supernatural Reset" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."- Hebrews 12:1
Devotional: Have you ever noticed how your phone starts running slowly when you have too many apps open? The same thing happens in our spiritual lives. We accumulate habits, mindsets, and behaviors that compete for the processing power meant for our relationship with God. Just like we need to close unnecessary applications on our devices, we need a spiritual reset to restore our connection with the Lord.
God designed you for so much more than survival mode. You weren't created to live in perpetual fear or bondage to habits that drain your spiritual energy. Instead, you were designed for worship, productivity, and fruitfulness. When life feels overwhelming and your spiritual performance seems sluggish, it might be time to consider what applications you've allowed to run in the background of your heart.
The beautiful truth is that God wants to restore you back to your original settings - the way He designed you to function. This isn't about perfection; it's about returning to the purpose and peace He intended for your life. Sometimes we need to step back, take inventory, and allow God to refresh our spiritual operating system.
Today, consider what might be slowing down your spiritual performance. What habits, thoughts, or behaviors have you allowed to run in the background that are competing with your relationship with God? The good news is that a reset is possible, and God is ready to help you start fresh.
Quote: " Along the way, we’ve picked up a lot of junk that’s hindering our spiritual performance. God wants to restore us back to factory settings. We need a "Master Reset."" - Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
Question: What spiritual 'applications' are currently running in the background of your life that might be slowing down your connection with God?
Prayer: Lord, help us identify what is hindering our spiritual growth. Give us the courage to close the applications in our lives that are competing with our relationship with You. Restore us to Your original design for our lives. In Jesus name, Amen.
Day 2: Designed for More
Based on the Message: "It's Time for a Supernatural Reset" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind." - 2 Timothy 1:7
Devotional: You were not designed to live beneath your privilege as a child of God. Fear was never meant to be your default setting. Shame was never intended to be your permanent address. God created you with a specific purpose and design that goes far beyond merely surviving each day.
Think about the original blueprint God had for humanity. We were designed for worship - to live in constant connection with our Creator. We were designed for productivity - to create, build, and contribute meaningfully to the world around us. We were designed to be fruitful and multiply - not just in terms of family, but in every area of influence and impact.
Yet somewhere along the way, many of us have settled for less. We've allowed fear to dictate our decisions, shame to define our identity, and addictive behaviors to limit our potential. But this was never God's intention for your life. He didn't design you to wallow in sin and shame or to be bound by habits that steal your joy and purpose.
The enemy wants you to believe that your current struggles define you, but God sees your original design. He sees the person He created you to be, and He's committed to helping you live up to that design. Today is an opportunity to remember who you really are and what you were truly created for.
Quote: "God did not design you wallow in sin and shame, to live in fear or for you be bound to addictive habits and behaviors. Is there anybody who wants to access your original factory settings?" - Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr
Question: In what areas of your life have you settled for less than God's original design for you?
Prayer: Father, remind us of Your original design for our lives. Help us reject the spirit of fear and embrace the power, love, and sound mind You've given us. We refuse to live beneath our privilege as Your children. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Day 3: Reveal & Release
Based on the Message: "It's Time for a Supernatural Reset" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting."- Psalm 139:23–24
Devotional: Before God can restore us, He lovingly leads us into honest self-examination. Renewal always begins with recognition. Just as the body identifies and isolates damaged cells during autophagy, the Holy Spirit illuminates the spiritual toxins: unforgiveness, hidden sin, destructive thought patterns, and unhealthy attachments that hinder our growth.
David models this in Psalm 139, boldly inviting God to search him. This is not condemnation but divine diagnosis. God exposes only what He intends to heal.
As we allow God’s searchlight into the inner chambers of our hearts, He reveals the areas that require His cleansing work. But identifying the issue is only the first step. What God reveals, we must surrender. This leads us into the “capture” phase: confession, repentance, and release.
David understood this deeply. After his sin with Bathsheba, he didn’t hide behind excuses. Instead, he brought everything into the presence of God and prayed, “Create in me a clean heart.” He recognized that transformation isn’t self-achieved, it’s God-performed. True repentance, the kind that leads to freedom and salvation without regret, means surrounding the toxic places with confession and handing them fully to God.
This journey from detection to surrender is how spiritual renewal begins. Yesterday’s revelation becomes today’s release. Whatever God brought to your attention, do not cling to it. Pride, shame, secret sin, compromise, none of these can go where God is taking you. His grace is ready to cleanse and restore, but your hands must be open.
Let God’s love reveal and let your surrender respond. This is the doorway to your supernatural reset.
Quote: "Autophagy is your body’s built-in janitorial service, cleaning out the “junk” so cells can function efficiently. Fasting & consecration is your spirit’s built-in janitorial service, detecting spiritual waste and disposing through repentance." - Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
Question: Where do you sense God highlighting an area in your life that needs cleansing and renewal? What specific sin, habit, or burden are you ready to surrender fully to God today?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing every part of our hearts and loving us still. As You reveal what needs to be cleansed, give us the courage to surrender it fully to You. Wash us, renew us, and shape us according to Your truth. Make our hearts clean and our spirits willing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Day 4: The Power of Fasting and Consecration
Based on the Message: "It's Time for a Supernatural Reset" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
"Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." - Matthew 4:4
Devotional: Sometimes God calls us to step away from the normal rhythms of life to focus entirely on Him. Fasting and consecration are powerful tools that God uses to reset our spiritual lives and help us hear His voice more clearly.
Fasting involves abstaining from food with the purpose of better hearing from God, while consecration is the act of separating ourselves from worldly activities to give ourselves to scripture study and prayer. Jesus Himself demonstrated the importance of this discipline when He said, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'
There's something powerful that happens when we deny our physical appetites to feed our spiritual hunger. It's not about punishment or earning God's favor - it's about creating space for God to work in our lives.
Interestingly, God has even wired breakthrough into our biology. During fasting, our bodies activate a process called autophagy - a self-cleaning, self-repairing, self-renewing mechanism that keeps cells young, healthy, and efficient. This natural process can reduce inflammation, increase mental clarity, and even interrupt addiction cycles. When we combine this biological reset with God's supernatural power, we position ourselves for profound transformation.
Fasting isn't going to harm you - it's going to help you. It creates the perfect environment for God to break through areas where you've been stuck and restore you to His original design for your life.
Quote: "Transformative things happen when we combine consecration AND fasting.... There is actually breakthrough built into your biology." - Pastor Dexter B Upshaw Jr.
Question: What would it look like for you to create intentional space in your life to better hear from God through fasting and consecration?
Prayer: Lord, give us the discipline and desire to fast and consecrate ourselves to You. Help us hunger more for Your word than for physical food. Use this time to reset our spiritual lives and draw us closer to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Day 5: The Father's Heart for Restoration
Based on the Message: "It's Time for a Supernatural Reset" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." - Romans 8:1
Devotional: One of the most beautiful pictures of God's heart for restoration is found in the story of the prodigal son. When the wayward son returned home, still carrying the smell of his mistakes and poor choices, his father didn't make him clean up first. Instead, the father immediately restored his identity with a robe, ring, and sandals - symbols of sonship, authority, and belonging.
This is how God sees you. Even when you feel like you still smell like your past mistakes, God is ready to restore your identity as His child. He doesn't wait for you to get your act together completely before He welcomes you back. The fact that you're turning toward Him is enough for Him to begin the restoration process.
Perhaps you've been carrying shame from past decisions or current struggles. Maybe you feel disqualified because of your habits or behaviors. But God's love isn't conditional on your performance. He loves you in spite of your addiction, in spite of your habits, in spite of your proclivities.
His goal isn't condemnation - it's transformation. The robe of righteousness is available to you today, not because you've earned it, but because you belong to Him. Your past doesn't disqualify you from God's love and restoration. In fact, your willingness to return to Him is exactly what His heart has been waiting for.
Quote: "The robe was put on the son while he still smelled like what he had repented from. But the fact that he came back was enough for the Father to look at his son and reaffirm that although he'd been through some things, "he still belongs to me."" - Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
Question: What shame or past mistakes have you been carrying that God wants to replace with His robe of righteousness?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unconditional love and acceptance. Help us receive Your restoration even when we feel unworthy. Clothe us with Your righteousness and remind us that we belong to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Day 6: Breakthrough Through Breakdown
Based on the Message: "It's Time for a Supernatural Reset" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17
Devotional: Transformation rarely happens without some level of breakdown first. Before God can build something new in your life, He often needs to tear down what's been hindering your growth. This process requires transparency - being honest with God and yourself about what needs to change.
God isn't looking for perfection; He's looking for a broken spirit and a contrite heart. He's looking for humility - the willingness to admit that you need His help and can't fix everything on your own. This kind of spiritual breakdown isn't a sign of weakness; it's the beginning of breakthrough.
When you come to God with transparency about your struggles, habits, and areas where you've been stuck, you create space for His transforming power to work. He can't fix what you won't acknowledge, and He can't heal what you keep hidden. But when you bring your brokenness to Him, He specializes in making all things new.
The beautiful promise of Scripture is that if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old has passed away, and the new has come. This isn't just a one-time event - it's an ongoing process of transformation that happens as you continue to surrender areas of your life to God. Today, consider what God might be asking you to surrender so He can create something beautiful in its place.
Quote: "Before there can be a breakthrough, there must be a breakdown; embrace the supernatural reset." - Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
Question: What area of your life is God asking you to surrender so He can create something new in its place?
Prayer: God, we come to You with humble and contrite hearts. We surrender the areas of our lives that need Your transforming touch. Break down what needs to be broken down and build up what needs to be built up. Make us new. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Day 7: Walking in Your Reset
Based on the Message: "It's Time for a Supernatural Reset" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
"So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to desire and to work for His good pleasure." -Philippians 2:12–13
Devotional: A reset is only as powerful as your commitment to maintain the change. It’s possible to ask God for renewal, experience His restoration, feel His touch, and still drift back into old patterns if we don’t guard the work He has begun. David understood this when he prayed, “Sustain me with a willing spirit.” He didn’t just ask for cleansing, he asked God to help him keep what he received.
When God resets your spirit, your thinking, your habits, and your desires, He invites you to walk forward in partnership with Him. This is why Paul urges us to “walk in the Spirit” and “work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” Not because salvation depends on our effort, but because spiritual maturity requires intentional cooperation with the Holy Spirit. God works in you, but you must also work with Him.
Maintaining your supernatural reset requires consistent spiritual discipline. Prayer keeps your heart soft. Fasting keeps your flesh surrendered. Worship keeps your focus aligned. Accountability keeps you grounded and protected. These rhythms fortify your spirit so that your reset doesn’t fade with time.
This means you must intentionally protect what God has restored. Delete toxic influences that try to pull you back into cycles of bondage. Set boundaries that honor your calling. Avoid the spiritual clutter that once drained your strength. Stay rooted in community that speaks life, truth, and accountability into your journey. Guard your reset fiercely.
Remember, this fast was never meant to be a temporary spiritual boost. It is the doorway to a new rhythm and a year marked by discipline, devotion, and spiritual maturity. The reset you’ve received is supernatural but walking it out requires your daily surrender.
Quote: "Ask the Lord to sustain you in all that you will learn, so you can continue beyond this season of fasting and consecration." - Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
Question: What practical steps will you take to maintain your spiritual vitality after this 21 Day Fast ends?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the supernatural reset You’ve begun in our lives. Strengthen us to walk in the Spirit and to protect the work You are restoring in us. Give us a willing heart, a disciplined mind, and a steadfast spirit. Help us live out the transformation You’ve started, one day at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
