Watch the replay of Pastor Dexter's message, "The First, The Last, My Everything"
Day 1: The First and the Last
Reading: Revelation 1:8-18
Devotional: God declares Himself the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. This powerful statement reminds us that God exists outside of time and space, encompassing all of creation. As you reflect on this, consider how God has been present in your life from the very beginning and will be there until the end. How does knowing God as eternal impact your daily walk? Take time to acknowledge His sovereignty in every aspect of your life, trusting that He holds your past, present, and future in His hands.
Day 2: Love Languages of God
Reading: Psalm 100
Devotional: God desires our wholehearted worship and devotion. This psalm encourages us to enter His presence with thanksgiving and praise. Reflect on the various ways you can express your love to God - through praise, prayer, and giving. How can you make these expressions more meaningful and authentic? Challenge yourself to incorporate a new "love language" in your relationship with God today, whether it's spending extra time in prayer, offering a sacrifice of praise, or giving generously to His work.
Day 3: The Widow's Offering
Reading: Luke 21:1-4
Devotional: Jesus commends the poor widow for giving all she had, valuing her sacrifice above the larger gifts of the wealthy. This story challenges our perspective on giving. It's not just about the amount, but the heart behind the gift. Consider your own giving habits. Are you giving out of your surplus or are you willing to sacrifice? Reflect on areas of your life where God might be calling you to give more - not just financially, but also your time, talents, and trust. How can you cultivate a spirit of generosity that reflects God's heart?
Day 4: From Policy to Principle
Reading: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15
Devotional: Paul encourages the Corinthians to give cheerfully, not out of compulsion. This shifts our focus from rigid rules to heart-led principles. As you read, consider how your giving reflects your relationship with God. Are you motivated by love and gratitude or by obligation? Pray for God to reveal any areas where you might be holding back from Him. Ask for the grace to give joyfully, trusting in His provision and delighting in partnering with His work in the world.
Day 5: Everything Belongs to God
Reading: 1 Chronicles 29:10-14
Devotional: David's prayer acknowledges that everything comes from God and belongs to Him. This perspective transforms how we view our possessions and resources. Reflect on your own life - your talents, time, relationships, and material blessings. How would your approach to these change if you constantly remembered they all belong to God? Challenge yourself to live today with open hands, ready to use all you have for God's glory. Look for opportunities to bless others, recognizing that you are a steward of God's gifts.
