Baby, Come Back: Love Series - Five Day Devotional

Day 1: Coming to Our Senses

Reading: Luke 15:11-24

Devotional: The parable of the Prodigal Son reminds us of God's unfailing love and mercy. Like the son who "came to his senses" (v.17), we too can find ourselves far from God, surrounded by the consequences of our choices. But God, in His infinite love, is always waiting for us to return. Today, reflect on areas in your life where you may have drifted from God. What steps can you take to "come to your senses" and return to your Heavenly Father? Remember, no matter how far you've strayed, God's arms are open wide, ready to welcome you home with joy and celebration.

Day 2: God's Everlasting Love

Reading: Jeremiah 31:1-14

Devotional: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness" (v.3). These words reveal the depth of God's love for us. Even when we stray, God's love remains constant. He actively draws us back to Himself through His kindness. Today, meditate on God's everlasting love for you. How has He shown you kindness, even in times when you felt undeserving? Allow this reflection to deepen your appreciation for God's love and strengthen your resolve to remain close to Him.

Day 3: The Call to Return

Reading: Jeremiah 3:12-15

Devotional: God's plea to His people is clear: "Return, faithless Israel" (v.12). This call to return is not one of condemnation, but of mercy and hope. God promises to not stay angry forever and to bless those who return with "shepherds after my own heart" (v.15). Consider today if there are areas in your life where you need to return to God. What's holding you back? Remember, God's mercy awaits you. Take a step towards Him today, trusting in His promise of restoration and guidance.

Day 4: God Sings Over You

Reading: Zephaniah 3:14-20

Devotional: "The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing" (v.17). This beautiful picture of God singing over His people reminds us of His deep, personal love for each of us. In the midst of life's noise, have you taken time to listen for God's song of love over you? Today, find a quiet moment to be still and imagine God rejoicing over you with singing. Let this image of God's delight in you shape how you see yourself and how you approach your day.

Day 5: Renewing Our Commitment

Reading: Hosea 2:14-20

Devotional: Through the prophet Hosea, God speaks of renewing His covenant with His people, promising faithfulness and love. "I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion" (v.19). This passage speaks to God's desire for a renewed, intimate relationship with us. Today, consider how you can renew your commitment to God. What practical steps can you take to deepen your relationship with Him? Perhaps it's setting aside more time for prayer, committing to regular Bible study, or finding ways to serve others in His name. Remember, God is always faithful to His promises – let your response be one of wholehearted devotion to Him.
